Inaugural conference aims to highlight clinical nurse leadership

General Information

The European HIV Nursing Conference is sponsored by the International Association of Providers of AIDS Care (IAPAC), in partnership with the 

European HIV Nursing Network (EHNN). 

The conference will take place  

October 19-20, 2014, in Barcelona, Spain. 

Its Co-Chairs are 

Ian Hodgson, PhD, RN, MA (European HIV Nursing Network, London, England) and  

Margarita Robau (University of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain). 

The conference will provide a venue for Western and Eastern Europe nurses to:

(1) gain valuable insights into strategies for optimizing the clinical management of HIV-positive patients across the entire continuum of care;

(2) discuss the state-of-the-science in relation to using antiretroviral therapy for both therapeutic and preventative effects; and

(3) access professional development opportunities focused on enhancing nurse clinical leadership roles in the field of HIV medicine

Call for Abstracts

The conference organizers are seeking abstract submissions that reflect work related to current nursing practice in Eastern and Western Europe.  

Abstract submissions are encouraged in the following domains:

·         Clinical Management

·         Coinfection

·         Key Population Interventions

·         Nurse Leadership

·         Testing and Linkage to Care

·         Treatment Challenges

Abstracts must be submitted online by

5:00pm EDT, Friday, June 13, 2014.

Submitted abstracts will be considered for oral and poster presentations, and should report information not previously published, or intended to be published, prior to October 19, 2014.

Venue/Accommodations

Hotel Avenida Palace Barcelona is the venue for the European HIV Nursing Conference. 

Discounted rooms have been reserved for the nights of October 18-19, 2014. Depending upon availability, rooms may be available two days before and two days after these dates.

A Double Room (for single use) is available for €150/night (includes breakfast buffet and 10% VAT), and 

a Double Room is available for €160/night (includes breakfast buffet and 10% VAT).
