Press Conference: Invitation Greek Committee Against Police Torture

The newly formed

Greek Committee Against Police Torture

is inviting you to a press conference

on Tuesday 9 April, at 12:00

at the EAT ESA block,

Vass.Sofias avenue,

Parko Eleutherias.

The catalyst for the creation of the Movement was the recent incident involving the torture of four arrestees in Velvento Kozani

Its first purpose is to inform and complain on what happens in police stations, prisons, detention centers and also on the streets of Greece and moreover, the recording, on-site intervention and disclosure of all incidents of torture by the police.

Involved in the Committee Against Police Torture, are institutions, human rights organizations and individuals

(Hellenic League for Human Rights, Act Up Δράσε Hellas, Initiative for Prisoners' Rights, Network for Political and Social Rights, Union of Press Photographers of Greece, etc.).

Interventions by representatives of collective bodies and human rights organizations will also be made.

The Committee will present a text of protest against torture signed by citizens of Greece and other countries.
